REPORTS TO: CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Performs oral patient examination for medical and dental diseases. Includes dental examination Intra/extra-oral soft tissue and diagnosis of pathology. Determines services needed and establishes plan of treatment. Determines appropriate dental services and treatment alternatives and discusses with patients. Supervises and manages of dental department.
Graduation from accredited dental school, x-ray certificate, California State License, DEA registration, and CPR certification required. One year prior practice experience required. Must have radiographs review and diagnosis of pathology. Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. . Ability to stand/walk for 5-7 hours per day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and 40 pounds (on wheels). Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Works inside & outside including motor vehicle travel between sites.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works closely with patients, physicians and co-workers. Interacts with allied departments, i.e., X-ray, Lab. Stress level is moderate. The potential exists for handling hazardous and/or infectious material, therefore, good judgment is necessary at all times. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a health care environment.
On-site workplace environment. Regular travel to all health center locations.
